This rare and historically significant piece of Japanese militaria, this collectible porcelain flask was created to commemorate a soldier's honorable discharge from the army. This authentic Kutani ware bottle from the Taisho or early Showa period is in excellent condition, featuring a striking five pointed army star in brilliant gold leaf. The central motif is surrounded by intricate gilt patterns and delicate hand painted cherry blossoms (sakura). The base is clearly marked "Kutani" and inscribed in gold with "Commemoration of Discharge from the 623rd Infantry."
