This Authentic Showa Era (New Old Stock) collectible Japanese Mahjong Set from the Showa Era (likely 1950s-80s), featuring authentic Bamboo Backs (Take-hai).
This set features an original Japanese Government Revenue Stamp (トランプ類税証紙), confirming it was manufactured during the Showa Era (mid-20th century, pre-1989). The presence of this intact blue stamp is a rare find, proving the set is Unused and has been preserved in its original state for decades. Combined with its traditional artisan bamboo backs, this is a true time capsule of Japanese craftsmanship.
***Please note that traditional Japanese Mahjong tiles are standardly smaller than American and Chinese tiles.

The tiles are mixed and then arranged into four walls that are each two stacks high and 17 tiles wide. 26 of the stacks are used to build the players' starting hands, 7 stacks are used to form a dead wall, and the remaining 35 stacks form the playing wall.
