A complete Showa-era Japanese mahjong set by the now-defunct Mizuno Maruichi company, marked with the iconic red MVC hallmark. Bamboo-backed celluloid tiles deliver the dense, ivory-like feel and classic clack sound preferred by serious players. Includes all 144 tiles in a green portable case in almost perfect condition.

Japanese mahjong tiles are smaller than Chinese standard: 26 x 19 x 16 mm vs 32 x 24 x 16 mm. Japanese sets typically use 136 tiles for play; this set includes 144 tiles.

Features the iconic red MVC hallmark on tiles, the trademarked mark of Mizuno Maruichi, a now-defunct Japanese manufacturer known for high-density urea resin tiles.

Care Note
