Signed Hagi yaki Chawan in a soft pinky spotted glaze typical of Hagi Ware. Good vintage condition with a tiny chip on the mouth rim and natural aging edge. Comes with the original wooden co-box.

Hagi Ware (Hagi-yaki) is a traditional Japanese stoneware from Hagi City, Yamaguchi Prefecture. It is prized in tea ceremony for its natural texture, excellent heat retention, and the 'seven disguises' (nanabake): the glaze crazes over time and absorbs tea, gradually deepening in color and character with each use.

Care Note

Hand wash only with plain water. Do not use soap on unglazed areas. Allow to dry fully before storing. Hagi Ware is hygroscopic and will absorb liquids over time.
