Large vintage Japanese Hagoita paddle, circa 1980s, with a detailed silk applique Geisha figure in a red kimono. Traditionally used for the Hanetsuki New Year game and displayed as decorative wall art. Includes 2 shuttlecocks. Excellent condition with no signs of use; original box shows minor aging.

Hagoita (羽子板) are traditional Japanese wooden paddles used for Hanetsuki, a New Year game similar to badminton. Decorative versions featuring silk applique portraits became popular during the Edo period and remain a symbol of Japanese New Year tradition. This paddle is suitable for display or light play.
