A complete vintage Japanese Karuta set based on the classic Ogura Hyakunin Isshu collection of 100 Waka poems. Cards are in excellent, clean condition with no bends or stains. The outer box shows age-consistent wear including edge rubbing and minor discoloration.

Ogura Hyakunin Isshu Karuta (Uta-Garuta) is a traditional Japanese card game based on 100 classical Waka poems compiled by Fujiwara no Teika. A complete set contains 100 Yomifuda (reading cards) and 100 Torifuda (grabbing cards). The game is played at New Year gatherings and in competitive Kyogi Karuta tournaments.
