A matched pair of unused vintage Shino Ware chawan from Fuzan Kiln, featuring thick citron skin glaze in earthy white and golden orange, housed in their original signed wooden Tomobako box. Each bowl measures H 3 in x Dia 5 in and shows no chips or cracks. Ideal for tea ceremony use or display as a collector set.

Buyer Note

Shino Ware (Shino yaki) is a distinguished Japanese pottery tradition from Mino Province, recognized as the first white-glazed pottery in Japan. The thick feldspar glaze develops a characteristic citron-skin texture (yuzuhada) with small pinholes and warm reddish-brown scorch marks (hi iro) unique to each piece. These natural variations are hallmarks of authentic Shino Ware, not flaws.

Authenticity Note

Original signed Tomobako box bears calligraphy signature "Fuzan". Signature visible in photos. No additional certificate of authenticity included.

Care Note

Hand wash only with mild soap and cool water. Do not microwave or place in dishwasher. Allow to dry fully before storing in box.
