A large cast iron wind chime (furin) and matching kensui water container by Iwachu, from the Nanbu Tekki ironware tradition. The yellow-brown finish is the original cast iron color, not patina. Comes in original box, unused, long storage.

Buyer Note

Nanbu Tekki is a traditional Japanese cast iron craft from Morioka, Iwate Prefecture. Iwachu is one of the most recognized Nanbu Tekki foundries. The furin (wind bell) produces a clear, resonant tone. The kensui is a tea ceremony water container also used as a teapot stand. The paper tanzaku sail catches the wind to ring the bell.

Marked as Iwachu, Nanbu Tekki, Made in Japan. Original packaging included.

Care Note

Cast iron. Keep dry when not in outdoor use. Do not submerge. Wipe clean with dry cloth.
