Handmade Japanese kensui in dark black and white Seto ware with a brush pattern glaze. Used in tea ceremony for waste water disposal, and also suitable as a water container or wabi sabi decor piece.

A kensui is a waste water bowl used in Japanese tea ceremony (chado) to dispose of rinse water. It is not a chawan (tea drinking bowl). This piece can also be used as a water container or decorative bowl.

Care Note

Hand wash only. Do not microwave or dishwasher. Dry thoroughly before storing in wooden box.
